This on-demand course costs $150 for ASA members and $300 for others.
Learning objectives
- Review the fundamental neurobiology of sleep and wake and the generation of EEG rhythms, including a review of brain circuitry relevant to diagnosis and therapeutics of neurological sleep disorders
- Recognize normal and abnormal sleep-EEG features, including those associated with seizure disorders to identify which patients to refer for further neurological investigations and management
- Develop proficiency in the differential diagnosis, evaluation and up to date management of patients presenting with suspected central disorders of hypersomnolence, REM and NREM parasomnias and restless legs syndrome
- Enhance clinical expertise in addressing sleep disorders within the context of neurological conditions, including epilepsy, neurodegenerative diseases, and neuromuscular disorders
